Privacy Policy
Ago GenApp exists to protect your family’s story — and that starts with how we treat your data. This policy is written in plain language, because trust shouldn’t require a law degree.
1. What we collect
We collect only what is needed to run the service: your email address and name when you create an account, payment details processed securely by Stripe (we never see or store your card number), and the photos, videos, voice recordings, and stories you choose to upload. We do not collect advertising identifiers, and we do not track you across other websites. Ago GenApp (contact: hello@agogenapp.com) is the data controller for your personal data.
2. Your memories belong to you
Everything you store in Ago GenApp is yours. We claim no ownership or license over your family’s content beyond what is technically required to store and display it back to you and the people you invite. You can export or permanently delete your archive at any time, and deletion means deletion — no shadow copies.
3. Original quality, forever
We store your photos, videos, and voice recordings exactly as you upload them — we never compress, resize, re-encode, or otherwise reduce the quality of your files. The file you upload today is the file your family will open decades from now. Small preview thumbnails may be generated for faster browsing, but your original files are always preserved untouched.
4. Private by design
Your family archive is invite-only. Nothing is ever public, searchable, or used to train algorithms. Access is encrypted in transit and at rest, and only the family members you explicitly invite can view your timeline. We will never sell, rent, or share your personal data or your memories with advertisers or data brokers — that is not our business model and never will be.
5. Payments
Contributions and subscriptions are processed by Stripe, Inc. When you pay, Stripe receives the information needed to complete the transaction and shares back a confirmation, your email, and the amount paid — which we store to assign your supporter tier. Stripe’s own privacy policy governs their handling of payment data.
6. Email & updates
We use your email to run your account (sign-in, security notices) and to send family activity alerts — for example when someone comments on your memory — which you can turn off at any time in the app. Product update emails are sent only with your consent, every email includes a one-click unsubscribe, and you can ask us to remove you entirely at any time.
7. Children’s privacy
Ago GenApp is designed for families, but accounts are created and managed by adults. Content featuring children is controlled entirely by the account holder, is never publicly visible, and is never used for any purpose other than being stored and shown to your invited family.
8. Data retention & deletion
We retain your data only while your account is active. If you delete your account, your content is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days, except payment records we must keep for legal and accounting purposes.
9. Your rights (GDPR / EEA)
If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. Export and account deletion are built directly into the app, and you can exercise any other right by emailing hello@agogenapp.com — we respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority at any time.
10. Who processes your data
We work with a small number of trusted processors, each bound by data protection agreements: Stripe, Inc. (payments), Resend (transactional email delivery), our cloud hosting and object storage provider (secure file storage), and AI service providers (voice transcription and optional translation — your content is processed only to provide the feature and is never used to train models). Where data is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.
11. Changes to this policy
If we ever change this policy, we will notify you by email before the change takes effect, and we will never make your data less private without your explicit consent.
